BuzzGRO Genomic Grade Drosophila Propagation Media is a scientifically produced formulation developed specifically for research use of D. melanogaster. The components are blended optimally to dissolve readily and the media can be prepared using a microwave, hot plate, or autoclave. This modified Caltech recipe is ideal for prolific production of laboratory flies used in genetic/molecular biology research. The dye/PPA supplement is provided to add background to the media for better visualization of larvae and to prevent possible mite infestations. The media is quality controlled with growth of wild type and transgenic flies. Comes in a volumetric packaging of powder pre-weighed to prepare 1 liter of media (100 x 10ml vials).
